Draco knows that there’s no point even putting himself in the race. If Harry Potter is going to mate with anyone then Draco Malfoy isn’t just low on the list– he’s on the blacklist. Harry Potter, he is sure, would rather eat old leather than entertain so much as looking at Draco again. Not to say Draco thinks Harry still loathes him, worse, he thinks Harry doesn’t consider him worth thinking about at all. A colossal waste of time, that’s Draco.

Hours into the mating run, and nearing dawn, Buck has finally given up the feeble hope of being chased down by an Alpha and taken on the forest floor, so he begins his humiliating return to the beginning of the trail to check himself out, eat all the ice cream he has in his freezer, and maybe cry into a few beers.

Like the male deer? Eddie snorted at the obviously fake name, “not Bunny?”
“What’s that supposed to mean?”
Buck pouted, his petal lips jutting out moodily when Eddie laughed. “Sorry, it’s nothing. Look sweetheart, I’m here with my friends to celebrate something, not to pick up pretty omegas.”
Buck tried to pick up a hot guy at the bar after a team outing. Eddie thought the bunker bunny clumsily flirting with him was pretty cute.

“When I transform, promise me you’ll run. Hide. Don’t let me get to you. Buck—promise me.”
“Got it,” he nodded, a white lie to sooth the other man’s worries.
A guttural, wet sound ripped from Eddie’s throat as the transformation began. His body began to shudder, muscles spasming and contorting under his skin. Clothes tore, skin thickened, and muscle surged. Bones cracked and re-knitted with audible, horrific pops. A pelt of rich, dark fur sprouted along his arms, his face elongating into a fearsome muzzle filled with sharp, gleaming teeth.
“Run!” The command was a roared, half-formed thing, the last vestige of his human mind.
This time, a sliver of pure, instinctual fear finally pierced Buck’s resolve. He stumbled backward, his blue eyes wide and his knees weak from the overwhelming feeling of prey. Teeth gritting, he turned and bolted into the thick pine forest, the sound of his own frantic heartbeat thundering in his ears. Behind him, the final, agonizing sounds of the transformation gave way to a deep, earth-shaking snarl.
The hunt was on.
An injured werewolf Eddie lost his mind under the full moon, teeth aching to hunt. Buck was the perfect prey.
