Book 1 - The Last Spring in the Palace
The politics of the imperial court are a dangerous game, and Maomao knew it.
To protect Jinshi from political traps, five years ago Maomao chose to give up her love for him and leave the palace, carrying within her the fruit of that love.
However, the now newly graduated doctor Maomao sees the peace she had achieved away from the palace crumble when she is once again called upon to serve as an apothecary and now also as a doctor to the consorts Jinshi has taken in recent years.
Amidst traps and political intrigues, Maomao does her best to stay out of Jinshi's sight and that of her rivals who see her as a potential threat, while trying to fight against the guarded feelings that are resurfacing with force and keep herself and her most precious possession out of the sight of the thorns that surround the palace.
