Miss Catherine ‘Kitty’ Bennet was the dearest child of neither her mother nor father. Those positions belonged to Lydia Wickham and Elizabeth Darcy, respectively. Yet Kitty did not mind, because that honour seemed to come paired with being the least dear to the opposing parent.
Kitty, accompanying Georgiana in town for the season and staying with Elizabeth and Mr Darcy in their London home, falls in love... with Colonel Fitzwilliam. But his father has certain expectations of his prospects, and Kitty has some realisations about her family to make. Yet her heart just keeps falling for him deeper and deeper.

Mr Darcy's letter to Lady Catherine was in a different style; and still different from either was what Mr Bennet sent to Mr Collins, in reply to his last.
The joy which Miss Darcy expressed on receiving similar information, was as sincere as her brother's in sending it. Four sides of paper were insufficient to contain all her delight, and all her earnest desire of being loved by her sister.
