Maybe there is something beautiful about the darkest of blues.Naruto poured sake generously, and they all had a decent amount to drink. Sasuke was sipping on a beer by the time he noticed he was feeling the effects of all the alcohol. To his left, Naruto continued talking to Lee and Choji in a relaxed manner about something Sasuke didn’t feel like focusing on. The blond laughed out loud, shifting his weight as he spoke. Naruto sinks to his knees in front of Sasuke on the floor in the empty apartment. The cold November air seeps in through the open window that Sasuke hadn’t bothered to shut after it got dark, harsh fluorescent lights washing them in a sick glow, carving out every broken and maimed part of them and laying it in stark contrast.
“Naruto,” Sasuke says, quieter this time. The tiredness that seems to live in his body now begins to crawl over him like hands pulling him under water. “Your Konoha is not the same as mine.”
Or, as the years pass after the Fourth Great War, Sasuke struggles with the concept of love.
