Too bad, it seems, that Beacon has made her soft. Her back has begun to thaw and her breaths grow deeper, and she can feel her bones begin to weaken. There’s no other reason for the aching pain she feels radiate from her chest. She’s just being dramatic— being free from Atlas has made her too emotional. It’s all just in her head, a metaphorical pain.

How will Ferdinand react to the Myne who has years of Aub experience, a true female education, and years of fighting in a losing war. The scars remain, but the confidence she has and the self insurance she has is there. She also actually understands the way of nobles along with knowing how to hide and scheme. At the end of the day though she still loves her books, but she learned self - restraint and can not longer be manipulated by them.

This was typically the part where Rumi would be expected to introduce herself, but she didn't seem to give a flying fuck about what was expected of her if the way she still just stared even as Celine cleared her throat pointedly said anything.

Rumi squinted between them and the bag. "Why."
"Because as much as you don't seem to like us, we like you just fine."

"Well, come on. Aren't you going to bite somebody with those big sharp teeth of yours?" Mira prompted again with a raised brow, shaking Zoey's arm slightly, as if genuinely trying to entice Rumi to take a bite.
Instead of taking the proffered bait, Rumi turned her head away with a strong air of ‘well now I don't want to.'
"Thought so." Mira drawled, unimpressed. "Now how about you let us help you inside?"

Celine was put in an impossible situation. Run the Sunlight Sisters record label, try to keep demons out of the world in the absence of two hunters, and raise a child that wasn't hers, all on her own.
Oh, and of course, just to add to the difficulty of her situation, the kid is half demon. She's lucky she's so stinking cute.

I've seen so many stories completely villainizing Celine, which I'm totally interested in exploring don't get me wrong, but I also disagree that that's how she is in canon. She's a lot more complex than that, I think. That being said, this ALSO isn't based on canon. This is Celine doing a better job at being the parent Rumi needed.
Also note that the first chapter is a prologue and not really in the style that the rest of the fic will be written in, it's just like that for atmosphere!
