Summary
The mind can be a fickle thing at times, no matter the self discipline or wisdom one has gained throughout their lives. It may take only one experience or mental construct to unleash the inner demons caged within its most isolated recesses.
For Astarion, his demons manifest in all but one being: Cazador.
Today is the penultimate day before he faces his old master; to sabotage the right of Profound Ascension. But for him, those demons raise his greatest fears and anxieties. They fester to such an extent, he isolates himself away from camp and into the dark streets of Baldur's Gate.
He moves aimlessly, allowing his boots to carry him where they see fit. They lead him to an old tomb, known to him long ago. It harbors a secret; a forgotten underground passage into a Selûnite prayer chamber, but unbeknownst to him, contains more than that.
His boots carry him to an archway leading directly into a grand cathedral of Selûne. Here: his pain, fears and anxieties culminate within a harrowing display of raw emotion.
He wallows in his own pity when quite suddenly, a blue wisp shines its light through the darkness, followed by the approaching footsteps of his most beloved wizard.
