Simon is more convinced that this is hell. He will be forced to relive his last moments alive for eternity, his blood wasted to slick the throat of the eel. He will be chewed, dissolved, discarded, entombed, chewed, dissolved, discarded, entombed for infinity. He tries to exercise some will in this cycle by falling back into unconsciousness. After all, he figures, if this truly is his punishment, some devil will ensure he’s awake to feel his death.
It is not a devil who wakes him. His eyes open to see a light lift him from the blood, pull him from the grasping hands of the damned.

On their way back to Erid, Rocky and Grace encounter some weird blips. They've been watching Scooby-Doo and are getting a bit bored so might as well do some sleuthing of their own, right? Who knows, could be someone else trying to fix the Astrophage problem. And it's on the way! How convenient! They aren't prepared to find another human, who is living a blood soaked submarine. If you escaped hell and ended up in paradise, you'd think you were still in hell. You'd question every good thing that happened and flinch at every offering. Summary
Simon has spent the last two years working for the COI to obtain a clean record after his participation in the destruction of Filament Station. When he's left on a drifter colony with a scrubbed identity and a tablet, Simon looks into ways to disappear from both the COI's gaze as well as Eden's, which leads him down what is perhaps the strangest avenue he's ever undertaken: a marriage visa.
Dr. Ryland Grace may or may not know that his friend Rocky has put a marriage profile up whatsoever. Simon is lonely and Rocky is persistent. This may or may not be the worst idea in the history of the universe.
