Mydei hummed. “Good. I’m glad you see it that way.” He said softly, before going quiet for a moment. “…Phainon needs more people like that in his corner.” He said, his voice even quieter than before.
“…He does.” Anaxa softly agreed.
Anaxa, Mydei, and Phainon settle in the aftermath of what happened at the Grove, trying to figure out their next steps forward. Anaxa swallows down his budding feelings, determined to solve this problem on his own.
When Caenis decides to act, the confrontation forces Mydei and Phainon to realize just how much Anaxa means to them.

Summary
He could still feel his stomach twisting with hunger, protesting how little he’d had to eat today. The feeling was uncomfortably reminiscent of the past- when starvation drove him to the brink, going days without food.
He needed a distraction.
“If I promise to call you when I’m having a bad time, will you return the favor?”
The memory echoed in his mind, something of a light in the darkness. Suddenly, he found himself desperately craving the presence of his boyfriend. Even if just over a call, Sunday’s smooth voice would be a wonderful distraction right now.
When Aventurine and Sunday both find themselves in need of comfort, they each remember the promise they made to call each other for comfort and help. Following through, they find it's not so bad going through tough times when you have someone else's voice to guide you through it.

Summary
It- it was the same scent. The same thing he’d followed into the city, searching, starving. Phainon stared, wide-eyed, at the small droplets of shining red blood beading on the wound. The scent, metallic and enticing, drifted towards him as he stood utterly frozen.
“I’m alright, son. Just a little scratch, no need to worry.” The man smiled. Phainon could barely hear him over the buzzing in his ears.
Phainon finds himself struggling as a freshly-turned vampire, having no idea what he is or what he's craving. He stumbles his way into Okhema, searching for shelter. Instead, he's confronted with some harsh truths about himself, and the monster he believes he's become.
This is the story of how Phainon became corrupted by the Black Tide, how he met Aglaea and Hyacine, and how he settled down into Okhema.

Brain fixated on the possibility of another dead friend, another timeline down the drain, another failure.Time Photo Studio gets robbed while Lu Guang is managing it alone. I lived with this hunger long before the Hail Mary. This is nothing new. I’m fine.
Right up until Rocky asks another question.
“When last time you touch other human person skin, question?”
Oh. Oh no. “When I… a few days after I first woke up here.”
Rocky starts to relax for a split second, but then tightens when something occurs to him.
“Grace crewmates dead when you wake up. You said this, statement. You not even know your own name, remember nothing, see dead bodies, confirm?”
I nod, because if I open my mouth I will gag.
“When last time Grace touch ALIVE human person, question.”
I swallow thickly. I don’t answer aloud because I know Rocky can hear the hitch in my breath. My stomach churns with fresh bile. He senses my vital signs tick over into stress patterns and goes very, very still again.
“Grace. When last time, question.”
I clench my jaw so hard my temples ache, and beg him with my eyes to just stop.
“Grace. Please say not when… when Evil Stratt humans put you to sleep.”
I can taste grass.
