Summary
The man was tall. Slim in the chest, but with shoulders that gladly filled out the tactical clothing under his tac vest. The collar of his shirt ended just under his jaw, made all the more stark by the contrast of thick, silver hair above. There were a half-dozen weapons hidden on his person. His boots were reinforced at the toe and heel, the leather combat-grade and a deep, telltale black.
Alfred Pennyworth walked down the center of the aisle, well-aware of the attention he’d garnered and entirely indifferent to it.

When he came back, Clark was holding what looked to be Dan’s jacket in his hand. He reached into one of the pockets, rummaging around until he found what he was looking for. He handed Ben a pack of cigarettes and a lighter.
“Here,” he said with a soft smile, “apparently it’s supposed to help.”

Obi-Wan doesn't usually get assigned investigative missions, but he's pretty sure the people being investigated aren't supposed to drop their blasters and surrender immediately.
Thorne flinches. “Well no offense to you, Kiffar, but this one—” He gestures at Obi-Wan. “Olen broke the rule, pointing a blaster at him, nevermind actually hitting him.”
“The rule?” Obi-Wan asks, flabbergasted. He looks at Quinlan, who is just as baffled.
“I certainly never pointed a blaster,” Thorne continues, loud, as if he’s hoping someone will overhear him.
“Now that you mention it, I am a little offended,” Quinlan says.

Then, Clark’s eyes met his, and he pulled away so quickly that the sound of his retreat whipped through the air. His face, for a moment, was startlingly open, and naked grief cracked harshly through his expression like a fist shattering the surface of a frozen lake. Then, it was gone, and the slate was wiped clean as though there had been nothing but a mild smile there since the very beginning.
But Bruce knew what he’d seen.
“How long?” he asked.
Clark’s mouth twisted. “I don’t know why I thought I’d be able to keep it from you,” he said softly. “You know me too well. Was that even five minutes?”
“Clark.”
Clark’s lips turned up into a smile, fracturing his face, his eyes glittering shards of lapis lazuli. “How long for what?” he asked. “For how long we were married? Or for how long it’s been since you died?”
