“You’re a horrible drunk,” Qifrey grumbles softly after a few moments of relative silence. Olruggio almost doesn’t catch the words at first, nearly having already drifted off, comfortable and warm and happy— but he still finds himself smiling into the nape of Qifrey’s neck, pressing a gentle kiss to the skin there, feeling the witch go still beneath his touch. “‘m not drunk,” Olruggio lies, sleepy and content and in love. “You’re just perfect.”
“... Mhm. Definitely drunk.”

Summary
His breath passes through his body in cycles, and he allows himself to focus on it. The stretch in his muscles as his chest expands and back widens. Each inhale seems to unravel something in him, allowing the tension to bleed from his body.
Once more he observes Olruggio’s features, taking in the color of his eyes — an intriguing shade that reminds him of a star-filled sky — and the harsh line of his mouth. He observes the dark strands that fall across his forehead, the cut of his jawline, the bridge of his nose.
I want him and this life we built together.
I want to live.
or: qifrey learns to rebuild. olruggio is by his side.

"I don't know if you've noticed this, or if I haven't made it clear in everything I do for you, but I'm going to clarify something here, Qifrey," he began, quietly but firmly. "I choose to care for you, and it's not something I do out of obligation or to be kind. I've chosen to care for you every day of my life since we met, and I would choose it all over again. Because I love you, Qifrey. And believe me when I say I would do so much more for you."
Qifrey froze, mesmerized by the words he already knew were true, but still enchanted to hear them spoken aloud, coming directly from the man who dedicated so much to him. It was as if there, in that warm, cloudy bathroom, Olruggio had managed to put into words all the care he offered him every day.
