Only, she'd never been any good at saying no. So when a ragtag pirate crew begged her to save their friend, she agreed to help. She didn't agree to being dragged along on a treasure hunt or acting as their ship doctor.
But the world wasn't quite done with her, no matter how much she disagreed.

She has crossed the world to bargain for aid against the dead gathering near Stygai.
By morning, the price of that aid is set: when the war is over, Visenya will marry Aerion.
He despises her. She despises him. Egg stows away. Asshai waits.
