Sonar stares into the ceiling. “I'm managing,” he says. “I'm occupying myself with heavy, philosophical thinking so I don't give into the urge to bash my head in with a rock.”
It's true. He's antsy. He has been, for this past week. He wishes he could get back to work as soon as he can, regain that sense of normalcy he foolishly gambled away. “Woah there,” Gala exclaimed, hoisting the man back up to his feet. “Just a couple blocks away from here. Can you make it that far?”
Hyde responded by vomiting on the sidewalk.
The werewolf patted his back for a few moments before hoisting the limp man over his shoulder. If there was one way he wanted this night to go, he hoped it would end in him getting a job— not him carrying a drunk man into his studio apartment. Ignoring the unpleasant remnants Hyde left on the pavement, Gala carried him another couple of blocks and up the stairs into his apartment, hopeful that no one except other drunk people was awake at this hour— which he was correct in assuming. Fumbling with the key to his apartment, he shut the door behind him and turned on the flickering light.
