“Kanan! What do you think? Do you like it?” Sabine asked with excitement clear in her voice. Her eyes were bright, and the look on her face was one of pure joy.
Kanan had felt it —the near-overwhelming happiness that told him Sabine was either dying her hair or painting her armor. He’d tried not to think about how he could never see her colors again. He’d never see her paintings again or her vibrant hair. He felt angry at Maul for taking his sight, for causing this rift between him and Ezra, and for throwing this wall between him and Sabine. He knew she’d want to show him, and when she ran into the commons room all bright in the force. He could feel her happiness, and he wanted so badly to keep this moment alive, but he knew he couldn’t.
In a moment, the light in her eyes faded, and the look on her face was replaced by one of sadness when Kanan spoke, his voice strained. “Sabine, I…”

Summary
