Summary
“I could call the others”, Jay reflected for a moment, for the first time in the whole situation. He could shout and they'd come running immediately, he believed. Or maybe they'd think he was overreacting and give him enough time to handle it on his own. Maybe he could. He already longed to step forward, even if it was just to see what this was all about, if this was really happening and not just some kind of dream after the blow to the head.
“It’ll just be a glimpse", Jay told himself, without much conviction. The temptation, the curiosity, something bigger than himself that tingled through his body, were more overwhelming.
He didn't know why he was doing this.
Jay entered.
OR: Jay finds more than he expected when he turns on an old game.

"If you slow me down-"
She rolled her eyes and gave him a dismissive wave of her hand. "Pff," she snorted, offended. "You better try to keep up with me, old man."
The girl started walking, glancing back every now and then, not loosening her grip on her weapon for a second. Jay snorted softly behind his mask at her arrogance; walking ahead of a stranger right after a fight. That brat hadn't had the misfortune of losing a battle so far, he'd bet on it. How old was she, a teenager?
"Anyway, she's ridiculously young to be doing this", he couldn't help thinking, not that he cared, not that Jay knew exactly what young people were supposed to be doing at that age, except that he had a strong suspicion that it probably had nothing to do with being mercenaries or bounty hunters.
He tried and failed to suppress the part of him that realized that.
OR: A very tired Jay after the tournament finds this girl he can't easily get rid of.

He hesitated a moment before saying, “You know, you can stay here. If you want, of course.”
A low snort. "Is that an invitation, Sparky?"
“Hey, I’m trying to be nice.”
Nya made a skeptical sound, sinking into the softness of his mattress, showing no sign of wanting to move. Her finger absentmindedly traced patterns across his face: his freckles, the pale lines that climbed like roots, the scars beneath the eyepatch. He leaned toward her, closing his eye with a sigh. Perhaps she was also trying to etch this moment into her memory. Just as Jay was drifting off to sleep again, he heard her murmur huskily.
"Don't you dare scare me like that again."
It was too good to be true, he wanted to tease her. There were promises he couldn't keep after all. Instead, he pulled her close and whispered.
“I’ll do the best I can.”
OR: Nya and Jay's first time after the Merge. In more ways than one.

Summary
Jay looked over his shoulder at the vastness he'd staggered through, lost, his heart racing and his mouth full of blood. He looked back at them, and although the men's expressions were cautious, cold, unchanging, one of their hands slipped subtly into his belt. Jay recognized the gleam of the gun and didn't know why.
"Please, Agent Walker," they asked, but it wasn't a plea, it wasn't a favor. Jay couldn't see their eyes behind their dark glasses. "Don't make this any harder."
This doesn't feel right, was his last thought, the only coherent thread that had been repeated throughout this conversation with these strangers in suits. Jay looked over his shoulder again, overcome by that inexplicable dread, ice in his blood. He didn't know why; he knew he had to run, but he didn't know which way.
So he turned his back on the way he came and followed the agents back into the building.
Or: How Jay survives the merge alone, and how he discovers he doesn't have to anymore.

Summary
During the final assault on the Golden Master, the Ninja and the Serpentine all escort everyone to the safety of the underground bunker as Zane sacrifices himself to save all his friends. However, one ninja didn't make it into the bunker on time before the lid froze shut.
Jay Walker woke up... somewhere. Wherever it was, it certainly wasn't Ninjago, Jay found himself stranded in a realm he never even knew the existence of. Left to his own devices, Jay had no choice but to survive in this new world until he could hopefully find a way home. Unfortunately for him, life didn't see it the same way, and Jay was stuck in this new realm for over a decade, until a strange cataclysmic storm merged all the realms into one. Jay partially loses his memories in the event, but it's not like it matters much to his already hardened heart, so when Ras offers more strength and power in return for his service, Jay accepts without much hesitation, only to find out he will be facing the people he barely even remembers.
What will Jay do when he finally meets his long lost team, a team he hasn't seen in over a decade? And how will the Ninja react when their long assumed dead friend is found again, but in a way they never expected?

It was only visible for a moment. Caught somewhere between a blinding glow and deafening snap, Jordana saw laces of energy unravelling from flesh, lurching and weaving and alive. It was captivating like nothing had ever been before. She wondered what it felt like to wield pure unbridled energy, to live fast-paced and self-assured. There was no hesitation from master nor element. She didn’t even have time to see it claw into Ras’ arm before he and the man were several feet apart, surroundings fading back to their usual sickly green.
And though the lightning had died down, the electricity was still palpable. The man’s hair was still raised like an agitated animal’s, lifted by an invisible charge.
Ras stayed unmoving, but the glint in his eyes exposed his fixation. He would not leave such insolence unpunished.

After turning a corner, a wave of nausea slammed into him. The noise of The Crossroads became a soft blur in his ears, replaced by the sound of his own racing heart.
