The lamp’s low light flickered out with him. His face stuttered back into existence after a long moment, his too wide eyes and drooping antenna giving a deceptively innocent air about him. It made Alastor want to bully him.“I must say, Vincent. I am incredibly impressed with your stamina. We'll be nearing two hours soon. I didn't think you had it in you, old pal. One would think it's not enough.”
“It’s n-not enough?” Vox parroted back, the words wobbly and uncertain.
“Why, if you say so, pet!”
Alastor watched in delight as that sweet confusion melted into fear. “W-wait-"
