Dark obediently fluttered out his wings for Chosen, allowing him to run his fingers through his wings. "What's for breakfast, though?"
Chosen began to preen them, fixing each feather carefully as he did. He dug his talons into the very roots to unsheathe the pin feathers from the base, shredding the hard, grey-blue tubes with deft ministrations. It felt like peeling bark, or scraping dry paint. However, when the soft fluff of the feathers underneath revealed themselves, a bright crimson instead of the usual dirty maroon, it made up for the unpleasant sensations entirely.

Summary
Sometimes, The Chosen One wished he had died instead. Perhaps, in a better version of this world, this was the fate he would've been chosen for. Chosen to die, to be betrayed by the one you love most, blasted away through hills of rock and left to die alone. Maybe, he would've survived the fall, and made his way over to the house in which they resided, pulling himself in by his hands and sheer will to live. He wouldn't have abandoned her, he would've tried. And that would be enough for her to know that he did his best, he really would've, and she would move on.
Scorpions such as these scuttled around in his mind, stinging and poisoning his thoughts whenever he tried to swat them away. Vermin.
Dark liked scorpions. Chosen had walked in on him crouching down beside a tank full of the critters, stretching in a hand to lightly stroke the transparent shell. She had lifted her hollow red head to meet him with a wide smile, gesturing excitedly at the scorpion.
"Don't you like her? She's beautiful."

"Whatchu got there, Chosen One?" Dark inquired, indifferent to whatever answer he would receive. After all, he lived for destruction and if Chosen wanted to eat a survivor, he could go right ahead.
"Leftovers." Chosen set the body on fire, the white hot flames licking at the rapidly charring flesh. The screams of the last remaining seventeen were drowned out by the crash of a Yahoo tab, which split in half upon impact. Something purple rolled towards him, and with a quick glance, he saw that it was the Yahoo logo, the edges blackened and scorched. Too precise to be his own, so he assumed it was Dark's work. Turning to congratulate the young stick, he noticed a strange expression on her face.

Summary

Jazz and Prowl exchange a strange look, something that makes Megatron want to strangle them because he can’t decipher what it is. He pushes back the suspicion that they’ve caught onto his situation; it would be impossible for them to know. There is nothing different about Prime’s frame or processor from when Ratchet had scanned him during his forced berth rest. They cannot know about him.
“If you need an extended leave, don’t refrain from requesting it,” Prowl says after a small pause. “That was quite a blow to the helm you took.”
“A measly blow to the helm won’t deter me in the slightest,” Megatron snaps before he can think better. When he does think better, he reiterates to a wide-eyed Prowl, “that is, my helm is more than capable of taking a hit.”
Jazz laughs at that. It sounds strained.
“Sure,” he agrees, “yeah, sure. Hey, how many digits am I holding up?”
