“Well, I’ve been thinking lately,” Allen started. Kanda scoffed lightly at that, making him pause and shoot Kanda a slightly annoyed look. “Shut up. Like I said, I’ve been thinking, and I know that I certainly don’t wish to die alone, so what if we had a fail-safe? I thought that maybe we could just get married.”
Kanda was pretty sure his brain short-circuited the moment that those ridiculous words escaped Allen’s mouth, because what?

Summary
Cross had told him that when two people like each other they show it by doing things like hugging and kissing, but Allen realized that he and Kanda never did that stuff. They were best friends, so that had to mean they liked each other, right? Sure, Kanda was mean sometimes, but he must like Allen at least a little bit to stay his friend, so why did they never do those things?
Allen liked hugs a lot and he thought that he would also like to give Kanda hugs.
