Modern AU: Alois Trancy is living a rather boring life in foster care, waiting to age out of the system and becoming absolutely nothing, just like he always thought he would be. Life is boring. People are boring- that is, until he meets a certain Claude Faustus at the local library. Claude is uncomplicated, but somehow interesting all the same.
