Midoriya Izuku is medically quirkless, not technically homeless, perpetually exhausted and doing his damned best despite it all. He also sees spirits, which might be cool if not for the fact that a) no one else does, b) they really don't like him very much, and c) he's pretty sure the heroes now think he's a villain working for the League.
Aizawa Shota just wants to take down Overhaul, rescue Eri, keep his students alive, get some rest, and find out how this Deku kid knows things he absolutely should not know about his personal life and the Shie Hassaikai case.
Unless Nighteye's right, and the kid really is a villain.

Izuku sprints for the gate as soon as Present Mic’s given the go ahead and he almost immediately runs headlong into a one-pointer. He has no weapon but his hands and his wits. That’s okay. Izuku’s good at thinking on the fly. Lips curling into a feral grin, Izuku leaps forward, arms curling around the robot’s ‘head’ in a mockery of a chokehold and pulling, while his legs press the robot into ground. Izuku can feel his palms catching on sharp machinery as he finally tears the head free.
That’s something he’ll take care of properly later. Right now, it’s not what matters ———

Izuku Midoriya is not a hateful person. At least, he tries not to be.
He finds the fact that he and Katsuki are almost destined to stick together wherever they go annoying and definitely curses the universe out for this occasionally, yet he never outwardly shows this. Sure, he silently hissed when he saw the explosive boy in his middle school class and ran a hand over his face discreetly when he was paired up with him on the second day of UA, but he made sure he wasn't noticed.
So, he thought he was in the clear. Izuku will continue to pretend he was okay with his number one tormentor being near him most of his life.
The universe has other plans.

Izuku gets a fatal illness that hasn’t been around since the dawn of quirks. Everything people knew about it was either burned down when the initial appearance of meta abilities wreaked havoc among people or are simply wrong– at least in his situation.
No, he doesn’t like Katsuki. Nor does he think he’ll be cured by “confessing” to him. What do you mean no one decided to perfect the surgery required to let him live in peace– seeing as it has a high mortality rate? Wait, does anyone even know how to do this?

Summary
Izuku is good at hiding things and lying through his teeth-- he's practically a professional at this point.
With hiding and deception, though, his mental health deteriorated as the universe keeps trying to torment him and he keeps having to bottle up secrets and anger.
But he can continue to hide it all, because Izuku is nothing if not good at hiding. Until he cracks like a mirror and promptly shatters, finally placing his trust in someone else to pick up the shards and put him back together.
