Summary
Melanie is a young woman bereft of options in a city that sinks its claws into you and doesn't stop carving pieces out and stuffing itself in. Whether it replaces mortality with chrome or morality with apathy, NC takes and never gives. She's the lowest of the low- a Scav, part of the one gang in Night City that everyone agrees is the worst of them. In a group already solely consisting of bottom-feeders and scum-suckers, she's the lowest on the totem pole. But somebody once said that once you've hit rock bottom, the only way to go is up. Even if the idiot who said that line probably got flatlined in minutes, Mel can't help but hope that she won't fall screaming off the edge like every other hopeful.
