He held out his hand on the tabletop. Tommy’s eyes flickered from his open palm to his mask.
“Let me see.” Dream’s fingers curled, coaxing.
He saw the refusal on Tommy’s face. Then hesitation.
Slowly, Tommy laid his arm on the table, a few inches away from Dream’s hand.
A faint smile touched Dream’s lips. That was something.
Or: Two different times Dream treated Tommy’s injuries, once before exile and once during.

“He mentioned Abigail talking about the changing weather. Something about her being excited about having holidays on their own homestead, and wanting to give us plenty of warning in case we were thinking of running off to Mexico or something. What do you think about it?”
Arthur shrugged. “I guess it’d be nice to get south for a while. Get out of the cold when it comes.”

“Yes, thank you Dream,” Phil says, pulling out his sword, letting it hang loosely in his hand as Techno holds onto Tommy’s arm, tugging the teen even more, to the point where Tommy thinks he might bump into Techno. “However, as of now, Tommy is under the protection of the Antarctic Empire.”
Dream shakes his head, laughing. “You can’t do that.” And as he walks forward to get closer, Phil points his sword right at Dream’s face.
“Yes, we can.” Phil responds, and Dream takes a step back when the edge of Phil’s sword pokes against his mask.

Summary
Tommy scoffs. “Fine. Whatever.” Stones and rubble scatter as Tommy stumbles off of the pile. “You’re so boring now,” Tommy complains, kicking one of the loose pebbles. “Stop moping and go back to fucking normal.”
Tommy only tries to distract Techno a few more times. When Tommy finds old, vulgar graffiti, or when he grabs a stick and pretends it's a sword, or when he picks a few spare wildflowers and holds them out for Techno to take.
Techno turns away from them.
Tommy stops trying after that.

After getting bit, Tommy reveals that he's immune—only seconds before Techno almost pulls the trigger.
Techno is thrown into a devastation, struggling through guilt, nightmares, and a sense of responsibility.
Tommy just wants Techno to stop ignoring him.

"What the hell happened to you?" Techno asked, narrowing his eyes at Tommy and looking him over.
"Damn, fuck you too." Tommy muttered, brushing off some of the dirt on his jeans. It didn't really do anything, but he felt better about it.
He knew he looked like shit. He literally didn't have one of his shoes, and his clothes were in tatters as he only had one set and couldn't really wash it, not that there would be a point to. He was covered in dirt, and he was pretty sure his shirt had a bunch of old blood stains on it. Which definitely didn't help his case.

Or: the bedrockbros post-exile fic where I decided Tommy should get to heal, get a kinda family, and absolutely murder that mf. With some bonding moments along the way.

Summary
“Techno,” Tommy asks, resisting the urge to wring his hands together. “Why did you decide to do this? To start a bakery, I mean.”
Techno doesn’t pause at that, but his movements slow, for just a moment. His hands press into the dough below him with a slow and deep consistency. “Knew that one day, there’d be a ratty street kid starvin’ himself out here.”
“I was not ratty,” Tommy grumbles, crossing his arms and glaring.
This gets Techno to pause, turning to deadpan at Tommy with his eyebrow raised.
“I was not!”
“You still are,” Techno rumbles, turning back to his dough. From the mouth of almost anyone else, it would be mean and bitter. From Techno, it only sounds fond.
