That familial love, the intrinsic kind that drove him to protect and provide for his daughter, was the kind that Lucifer understood. Then there’s …whatever he’s got going on with Alastor. It was like some kind of bug that began eating away at Lucifer’s foundation of the word. By the time he finally realized the severity of it, there was no way to stop it from collapsing.

Summary
Alastor has done everything in his power to hide his status as an Omega. Scent blockers, suppressants - anything he can get his hands on to hide what he believes is an inexcusable flaw.
Lucifer has never experienced what it's like to go through a heat. As an angel, he wasn't created with a designation, and he loves Alastor for who he is regardless of his secondary gender.
When Alastor's suppressants fail and he attempts to struggle through his first heat in nearly a century alone, they must both make a choice: Alastor, to place his trust in Lucifer; and Lucifer, to do anything it takes to see Alastor through his heat.

Summary
When Rosie suggests that what is happening to him might be the beginning of his presentation, Alastor wants to laugh in her face and then proceed to destroy half of the city.
It seems that being a Beta was not written in the stars for him, after all, much to his overall disappointment.
When he thinks that it couldn’t be worse, the sudden appearance of Lucifer Morningstar proves him wrong very quickly, turning disappointment into a disaster and setting into motion a chain of events that has the potential to change both of their lives forever without any hope for ever turning back to how it was before.
In the end no one is able to resist the temptation hidden within when the primal instincts take over.
