Sansa thought that a dashing rescue should look different. Of course as a lady she wasn’t very nature-oriented or adventurous, so she wasn’t prepared for the many hardships she encountered: the cold, the rain, some mosquitoes, barely edible meals, infrequent baths, a grumpy travel companion and a fluttering of unknown origin in her tummy.

Last year he made up some lame excuse to not see Sansa. It worked well enough; she visited Winterfell and had a nice time, even if later she coaxed the truth out of him in the softest, most unobtrusive way imaginable. He might’ve cried then – and not for the first time since she started unpacking the mess that was his life.
