Thorin wasn’t moving by his side. “And it’s failing. There are healers in Greenwood who have gifts for mending hearts, but there isn’t much chance it will work. I haven’t been very responsive to any other methods, and… Well… I don’t have very long.” Bilbo dropped his eyes to his hands. He’d ripped the four-leaf clover Bofur had given him. It seemed horribly symbolic of his life.
Headed to Greenwood to see the healer Thranduil, Bilbo Baggins and Gandalf the Grey hitch a ride with thirteen dwarves headed to Erebor.
Bilbo had hoped it would be like the adventures he read. That there would be orcs, sword fights, torture, revenge, trolls, chases, or escapes.
He had never expected miracles or true love.

Every Hobbit in the Shire has a Season. The children of Summer are known for their fires, the Springs for their skills at gardening and healing, and the Autumns for the winds that they can bend to their will.
Bilbo Baggins has a different Season, a cursed Season.
Bilbo Baggins is a child of Winter, blamed by many for the suffering of the Fell Winter of his infancy. Shunned and forced to restrain his powers with an amulet, Bilbo suddenly finds his skills needed to assist a horde of suicidal Dwarves on their Quest to kill a dragon.

Summary
For his uni project, Phil Lester needs to write a romance script. For the sake of realism, he decides to base it on something familiar: his grumpy, emotionally unavailable law student roommate.
Dan Howell does not believe in love. He definitely does not believe in romance. And he absolutely does not agree to being turned into one.
But as Phil starts writing, capturing small moments, quiet routines, things that shouldn’t mean anything, it becomes harder to ignore how little he’s actually changing. Because the problem with writing a love story about real life is that, at some point, you have to decide where the fiction ends… and what it means if it never did.
(or: Phil writes a romance for class. Dan accidentally ends up in it. This is, unfortunately, not hypothetical.)

Tony’s was bright, and smiling, and so full of love, and Harley’s was so broken, and the emotions on both of their faces were so completely different that some part of Peter that was still clinging to consciousness wondered how both could exist in the same universe at all.

This is what happens when you leave an irondad Twitter fic to stew for six years and it grows a plot (ft Harley Keener/Peter Parker, soft romance, tragic amounts of angst thanks to HYDRA, and an Endgame rewrite).
