“You don't gotta tell ‘im,” Todo offers. “There's not enough space in his brain to store new information anyway.”
He distantly hears Kaname protest, but whatever retort he was gonna throw his way dies on his tongue as Yama's eyes, rabbit quick, flick to meet his gaze, then just as swiftly dart away. Then, a gentle flush settles over the tips of his ears and the back of his neck, just below the nape, easy to miss if you're not looking for it - and for reasons Todo yet again does not really understand, he cannot bring himself to look away. The back of his own neck starts to prickle, just a bit.
“...Lo-” The wrapper crinkles in the tightening clutch of Yama's fingers. “Long hair. I guess.”

“Let go,” yelled Dirk, slapping Todd’s hand away and accidentally hitting the lever on the side of the machine, which emitted a cloud of blue sparks –-
“-- I still hate you –” yelled Todd –-
–- and then, in a cloud of smoke and sparks and a roar like an oncoming freight train, the lab dissolved around them, and they were gone.
Another Spring time machine throws a furious Todd and distressed Dirk ten years into each others' pasts. To get back to their time, Todd must convince a recalcitrant Svlad to join his case, as Dirk struggles to resist the allure of Todd at the height of his Mexican Funeral fame.
