She couldn’t panic at a time like this. Logic could be her only hope now. So, she listed what she knew about the situation.
1. She was Hermione Granger, unspeakable and curse breaker, who was locked in a magical Faraday cage.
2. She was holding a cryptex which was, as of yet, unsolved. Her palms were stuck to each end of the cylinder and thumbs where hovering above the dials. Dials that were changing by the second.
3. The smoke was steadily filling the room and her lungs. It smelled of old parchment and the color purple. It was cold where it touched her skin, making her feel clammy. It burned to breath and could not be conducive to normal oxygen intake.
4. Someone was trying to help her; she could hear the cage being slowly unlocked from the outside. She didn’t know who that person was, but she knew they would be too late.
5. Her vision was not to be trusted. Suddenly she wasn’t trapped in a Faraday cage for magic and unsolvable riddles deep in the bowels of the ministry. No, she was in fact a twenty-two-year-old girl standing with six powerful magic users on the front lawn of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. -

Summary
The war is over, Voldemort is dead. But neither side won. Both are too depleted from the fighting. Instead, The Hogwarts accords birth two opposite factions:
1. Heritage, those obsessed with the old ways and values
2. Unity, those who value all magical humans regardless of background.
The elimination of muggles or those of a lesser perceived station would cease, But the traditions of Pureblood culture and roles would also be maintained. It is an uneasy truce, complicated by an old curse plaguing Pureblood society. No one is sure of the exact origin, but birth rates are low and 1 in 4 women die during pregnancy. The Heritage Council will do all they can to garner a growing population of Purebloods heirs and half-blood second class citizens. Unity is concerned but mostly unaffected since their members diversified the gene pool. That is until one their own is caught up in the Heritage Council's plans to combat low birthrates.Note this is my first fan fic, be kind and let me know what you think.
