‘ "I know you don't want sympathy," Aziraphale said, with a composure so practiced it had become something like affection. "I'm not- I'm simply saying. I'm sorry. You shouldn't have to carry it alone. You can always come here.”
Something in Crowley went very still.
"You're not,” Aziraphale hesitated, and then, quieter: "You don't have to carry it alone. When it's bad. I, um, want to know.” A pause, and then the words that had the quality of something that had been thought many times and said only once: "I want you here."
The winter light lay across the duvet.
Crowley's hand, at some point, had curled into the fabric of Aziraphale's shirt.
"Angel," he said.
"Hmm?"
"Shut up," he said, and settled more firmly against him.‘
