“You know,” Kara drawls, slipping playfulness in her voice. “I work out sometimes. I can, like, totally throw him into space for you.”
It’s a long shot, but somehow Kara actually gets Lena to laugh.
Lena’s always pretty, that’s a given fact, like the sun can be red, yellow and green, and the neurons in Kara’s brain cease to exist at the sight of Lena’s smile.
When it dies, the brightness of it is still at the forefront of Kara’s mind.

“I’m Supergirl,” Kara blurted out. It was the only thing she could have possibly said to stop the momentum of Lena’s mentally-prepared speech in its tracks.
Lena sputtered, not quite certain she’d heard right. Still in the process of attempting to recover her train of thought, she simply responded, “What?”
