Rick almost forgets to glare at him, mind and gaze pulled into the direction of the meager pile of cans on the shelves in the corner of the pantry somewhere. They won’t be enough, not for the Saviors and not for the Alexandrians either, but it was all Rick could find. Something in his chest crumbles at the admission, even to himself, and its shame that has him frowning.

Bruce is from another universe, where he and Kal were the leaders of a resistance group. And Lex Luthor was the world dictator. Ever since the regime killed his parents, Bruce trained to fight and after years of hiding he started a resistance group. During one of their missions, they broke into a lab where Kal was being experimented on. Bruce saved him and from there started a relationship that grew into something romantic. However, during a botched mission to assassinate Luthor, Kal protects Bruce from kryptonite spear that ends up killing him. Distraught, Bruce has Constantine and Zatanna to send him to another universe where he can be with Kal. Despite their warning that it’s a one-way ticket and that he can’t coexist with his counterpart, Bruce allows himself to be zapped elsewhere. He ends up in a world where Brucie Wayne died in a tragic paragliding accident but was never Batman. The Bruce of that universe was a selfish playboy who adopted an orphan merely for good publicity and didn’t care about the city, Alfred, or his parent’s legacy. Here Kal still exists, but it comes with a cost that Bruce was not prepared for. Will Bruce be willing the price or will the weight of this new world’s responsibilities crush him?

Simon tosses another side-eye at the older man before he leaves. Once his door closes, Price groans to himself. "That boy could not come back soon enough..."

The military was a funny place, in that you often ended up seeing the naked arse of at least one grown man whether you liked it or not. From the cramped quarters to the games of ‘Gay Chicken’ that sprung up, the communal shower lots and general end of the day being covered in mud and grime meant nine times out of ten you caught a glimpse of arse.
You got desensitised to it after a bit, it became standard that in said context, a bit of nudity would occur.
Which is why Ghost could not fathom what exactly froze him to the spot when he opened the door to Soap’s cramped quarters to find him sleeping face down in a pair of black briefs.

Summary
Soap is a collector, though not of any one thing that Ghost can discern. He’s seen the man pick up anything from an abandoned rolex to a nondescript piece of broken glass. It doesn’t seem to be about size, it’s not shape and definitely not value; Ghost had thought he’d pinned it down as things that caught the light a certain way but was swiftly proven wrong when Soap went on a spree of collecting pebbles and sticks. There was one singular pattern that stood out in his mind, a single thread that held firm no matter how much he rearranged or plucked at it.
