Summary
Sarah is twenty-five years old and a fairly successful actress on the stage. She has mostly shrugged off her previous adventure as nothing but a fanciful dream, Toby has hardly mentioned it to her so she assumes he can't recall the events either. On winter's day, Sarah receives a rare invitation to a masquerade party in Scotland hosted by a mysterious stranger. Never one to turn the opportunity for adventure, Sarah accepts. But what could really be happening at the ball? There are strange people, creatures almost, in attendance, and Sarah find's herself the unfortunate prize in a dark plot to remove her from the Underground's records. How do you fight against the magic not of this world? Don't take anything for granted.

Rey’s friends are having a party for her to celebrate what’s supposed to be her big promotion, but Rey instead comes home with the utter shock that she’s been fired. Not wanting to party for certain, she gets angry and rages at everyone to leave whilst destroying everything in the process. Rey has done everything she’s supposed to. Gets the grades, the scholarships, works as hard as she’s supposed to, sacrifices what she needs to, and still ends up losing. Ben’s there to help pick up the pieces.

Summary
Inspired by the Dark version of Can't Help Falling in Love by Tommee Proffit and Brooke; Vampire AU short story about Rey being in the Choosing Ceremony so she can stop being an Other and gain more opportunities as a Chosen of Them. They tend to rule the cities, and Others have fewer choices now. Story is a scene I was inspired to write after hearing the song. Rey is in the ceremony, so what's going to happen? Rumor has it you're both a privilege and a sacrifice if you're accepted into the ceremony. Can you fight what pulls you together? Why bother?
Wrote as just a scene; if enough people are interested I have quite a few ideas about extending this into a multi-chapter fic delving into more.
