Summary for entire work (all chapters):
Rick was perfectly functional before he saw Blondie walk through the Citadel. Unfortunately, Rick is the kind of man who responds to attraction the same way other people respond to a plumbing problem: by building increasingly elaborate machinery until the situation becomes substantially more complicated than when he started. What follows includes custom biological modifications, autonomous support robots whose sole purpose is bodily-fluid cleanup, illegal experimental technology, increasingly ridiculous contingency plans, interdimensional incidents, and the colonization of an entire moon to house an artificial intelligence created for a problem that absolutely did not require an entire moon. Set in a sprawling multiverse of portal networks, rogue scientists, criminal syndicates, alien governments, and scientific catastrophes, this darkly comedic science-fiction romance follows a man who keeps trying to engineer his way around desire—and accidentally engineers himself much deeper into it.
