Summary
It takes the lieutenant a little more bumbling around the Whirling in Rags before he finally shuffles over to Kim, a questioning look in his eyes. Inspecting him from up close it becomes painfully obvious that Du Bois is both hung over and still under the influence of various substances in his system. Nonetheless, Kim retains an even expression on his face – only the shift of his LED’s light from a serene blue to a spinning yellow betrays a change in his mood.
“Good morning. My name is Kim, I am the android sent by Precinct 57 to assist you in this case”, he introduces himself in a matter-of-fact tone while extending one hand towards his assigned partner.
Du Bois’ eyes shift dumbly between Kim’s hand and face, lingering on the light on his temple for a few moments.
Finally, he gives his hand a firm shake.

He'd thought that he was determined enough. That he had killed off any sympathy that might have started growing in his soul for these two creatures, but the damn near permanent loss of Subject 1 had proven him wrong once again.
