Summary
During the summer after her first year at Nevermore, Wednesday finds herself in a predicament of unfamiliar torture. She has to come to terms with the fact, that communicating with her roommate by writing letters is not as effective as needed.
So she has to surrender to the horrible truth: she needs to buy an electronic mobile device.
But when texting and calling is not enough, she has to take it one step further - and invite Enid to visit her.

Summary
There is a shade over the sun, dimming its light and diluting its brilliance. Or, in terms that do not come unbidden from the depths of Wednesday's traitorous, maligned brain, there is something wrong with Enid.
Recently, Wednesday's personal notebook has been consumed with nothing but Enid, but in a distinctly investigation-oriented manner. Wednesday has mapped out the past year of their intertwined lives, and with it, Enid's sliding descent into the miserable, moping mess who has been haunting Nevermore in her best Wednesday impression.

Summary
The quiet gasp that left the confines of her mouth was what stole my next breath, because her eyes were sparkling, she was radiant, and she was completely transfixed. “It’s beautiful,” she said, and her voice was full of such wonder and conviction I almost could have been convinced she’d never seen it before. If only she had not been looking at me.
“It is,” I said, but I missed the way the sunlight glared off the stone and focused on how well the reflection complimented the shades of blue in her eyes.
Only then was she significantly more eager to turn and bare the back of her neck, raising what little of her colorful hair was obstructing my decided path. Only then did I hesitate, my fingertips just a breath away from her skin, and turn over the remaining options in my head. Only then did I finally lean in.
