“You said you needed a man, so I got you a man.”
Thorin eyed the folder again and inquired carefully, “What do you mean, exactly?”
“You need someone who'll play along convincingly. Someone who knows what he's doing. A professional.”
Thorin blinked. “A professional.”
Balin nodded solemnly.
“You can't be serious. An escort? Balin.” An image of a well groomed, muscular man with slick hair making suggestive comments in a darkened restaurant came to his mind, and Thorin shuddered. What has his life come to?Thorin is in trouble. A simple lie snowballs, and six months later he is expected to bring his mystery man to the family Christmas. Unfortunately for Thorin, the aforementioned man doesn’t exist. Fortunately for Thorin, Balin has an idea. Enter Bilbo Baggins, illustrator, writer and occasional professional boyfriend. As the two men get to know each other and set up a ruse to save Thorin’s dignity, things get a little… complicated. As the past is drudged up, both Bilbo and Thorin reconsider their present and wonder about their future. A Christmas story about love, fear, family and coming to terms with the fact that sometimes it might just be worth it to give it another chance.

Thorin teaches Bilbo how to swim in a dark and glittering underwater cave, and the romantic atmosphere leads to Bilbo teaching Thorin something as well. Oh, and there's jellyfish somewhere in there too.

No, seriously, you need to read part one
While the Valar were figuring out how to read a calendar, Freya did the math. She got to review the homework before taking the test this time, which was nice, but that made the most likely endgame obvious. She knew from the second she offered to do it that reverse fetch-questing an evil ring was going to be rough. She was trying anyway. Because she was very, very stupid.
She expected to pay a high price for the chance to stay.
She didn’t expect there to be an extra cost at the end.
Or for them to both pay it.
Or to be asked for more.Series

Summary
“The door remained hidden and the air was cold, lapping at him like waves in the distant seas of songs. The shadow enveloped him with a father’s tenderness. The world was slowly waking up. He was soaked to the bone, and the sun shone weakly upon his brow. Thorin Oakenshield was alive.”
Against all odds, Thorin survives the Battle of the Five Armies. Bilbo, grappling with his feelings, decides to stay in Erebor. But when the magical ring he’s been keeping secret starts whispering to him in the night, Bilbo knows he must heed its call. Thorin follows him, haunted by a strange vision. A second journey, a kingdom’s rebirth and many terrible truths await them under the mountain…
