Summary
Leon has become a master of the slow fade, a ghost haunting his own life until there’s nothing left but the sharp scent of whiskey and the hollow echoes of a man who stopped caring months ago. He exists in the spaces between memories he'd rather forget, pulling the shadows around him like a second skin.
Chris is the only one who refuses to let him vanish. Armed with a stubborn, quiet persistence and a refusal to look away, he remains the sole anchor in Leon’s drifting world. It’s a heavy, wordless vigil, a tug-of-war between Leon’s desperate need to isolate and Chris’s terrifyingly steady presence. In the suffocating stillness of what remains, they are forced to navigate the blurred lines of a bond that is as much a lifeline as it is a burden.
A study of the fine line between saving a man and breaking him further, navigating an intimacy neither was ever trained to handle.

Summary
But then another scent was filling Leon's nostrils, one that had his head snapping away from the neck he'd latched onto.
He inhaled deeply, taking in the inexplicable depth of it. Brows furrowed, he gazed down at the man beneath him, still somewhat disorientated from the all-encompassing wafts of something… comforting?Leon had always been told he was special.
Now on the run from the place that had once been his home, he realises there was a lot about both himself and the world around him he was kept in the dark about.
That, and being faced with the newfound mystery that is Chris Redfield.

Summary
He freezes, staring across the table, his beer inches away from his lips. “What?”
Leon’s expression turns into something he doesn’t particularly like, and something in his stomach twists.
“Do you think I’m hot?”
What feels almost like some kind of malfunction whites out his brain for a moment, and his mouth is open for far too long before he can piece himself together enough to dredge up a reply. Leon watches him silently the entire time, but he doesn’t have the mental capacity to worry about that as he considers his response.
“I don’t…I don’t know. Leon, I’ve known you since we were kids.” He finds it more difficult to speak, heart rate picking up as he sets his beer down and runs a hand over his face, the cool condensation a minor relief against his heated skin.
“Answer the question."
When Leon is left heartbroken by an ex, Chris finds he's the one Leon relies on to help pick up the pieces. But by doing so, their blossoming friendship might turn into more than he'd ever expected...
