Summary
Mai had been running for as long has he could remember. Naturally, as a kid he had his parents who tried to keep the fact that they weren't safe on the down low. They hid it from him the best they could, but it was kind of hard to keep a secret like that. However, they managed to keep their small family safe for many years until that night. Now he was on his own, skipping towns and fighting for the next bus ticket from those hungry beasts. It hurt to think he never got to bury them.
What happens when a desperate, malnourished, and touch-starved nineteen year old finally gets caught by his bloodline's worst enemies?
Maybe at one point I would've been able to disappear. Maybe lead a normal life, but they were too close now. I am figuratively and literally pressed up against a wall. It was pointless to try and escape. Let's just say I wasn't particularly excited to be eaten like the rest of my bloodline.
However, for Mai that wasn't the way it worked out. His family had wronged the Rosemites' too much to let him die a quick death. No, they were going to get revenge on the poor kid. Lets see how it goes.

It meets your glare with its hooded eyes, dark and enigmatic beneath the bone of its brow. “I do not ask.”
A numbing sensation settles upon your shoulders as the meaning of its words sink in. Something changes in the air between you, that primal urge to flee that had gone dormant during your conversation spiking up again as your pulse unintentionally quickens.
“You cannot keep me here,” you say slowly, forcing your voice to remain calm as your leg twinges with pain, reminding you of your crippling weakness.
“I can,” it states simply, and it's the casual confidence in that statement that unnerves you more than anything else yet. “And I will. Until you heal and understand.”
“Understand what?!” Your voice rings with incredulity as its gaze softens slightly. Haven’t you already talked about this? What else is there for you to possibly understand?
“That your hatred is the first real thing that has ever been truly mine.”

Or, you are part of the blind man's family of hunters and happen upon the last moments The Creature spends with said blind man. You can probably imagine how well that goes.
