Rouge had found herself zoning out when a clawed hand tapped against the armrest of her chair. Curious she looked at Omega but when he wasn’t looking at her, she followed her gaze and-
She hid her dropped jaw behind her hand as she gazed at the hedgehogs.
She was surprised that not even Amy or Tails had noticed their positioning.
Shadow was leaned back against the corner of the sofa, head resting in his hand which was propped up by the armrest, a tired expression etched onto his face. But what caught her off guard was how Sonic was actively leaning against Shadow. Their bodies pressed up against each other as Sonic’s head rested on Shadow’s shoulder. Both of the hedgehogs, despite their drained mood, were content.
She knew - but still prayed - that Omega was actively either taking pictures or recording the interaction. Rouge would have to somehow persuade the robot to share those with her.
OR
Rouge tells her POV of a movie night that involved Sonic and Shadow cuddling (aka being the best wingwoman)

Summary
"On a scale of one to ten, how would you rate your pain? Zero is no pain. Ten is the worst pain you’ve ever felt.”
Knuckles gave the question serious thought before saying: “Zero.”
Her vet tech frowned. She gently touched his swollen hand. Her other was occupied, still pressing the stethoscope to his chest. “Uh-uh." She pulled the stethoscope back. “Dr. Maddie, your boy is worse than a cat. You wanna listen?"
Maddie took the stethoscope from her. “Guess that means I should.”
She heard no irregularities with his heart or breathing. Both were a bit fast, but that was expected. She looked up at the tech, who pointedly (but gently) pressed Knuckles’ bad hand. The subtle shift in Knuckles’ breathing was nearly drowned out by his heart picking up speed. Outwardly, there was no visible change. He WAS worse than a cat.
“You--” She tapped his chest with her free hand. “--are not allowed to use ‘one’ on the pain scale.”
“What?!”
“Yeah. ‘One’ privileges revoked! I know it hurts worse than that.”

Another frigid gust hit him, spreading deep into his bones. Subtle movement at the corner of his eye caused him to spin quickly to the side, his fists raised. His eyes met nothing but empty space. His heart picked up its pace, his breath becoming shorter.
