    "No," Dunk demures, "not as such." He's thick, yes, but he's lived nineteen or twenty years and he's not entirely dumb. He knows what it means when an alpha lays with an omega—or any other conceivable combination, alphas, betas, omegas, men, women, and others still. Laying with someone does not always mean one is laying down. One might stand for it, too. Or, "We were sitting at the time."

    Dunk is determined to enter the lists, though it's hard to focus when his worries lay elsewhere. Lucky for him he knows of three omegas that are better versed in the ways of the world and might provide him with some much needed guidance.

    Because once, years ago, there had been roads. Hard ground. Rain through leaves. A boy in borrowed boots and a great foolish knight beside him, always near enough that waking in the dark did not feel like waking alone.
