But he’s already storming down the stairs. “Sharpe, I swear to God I’m gonna…”
Colin’s words escape him as he tries to comprehend the sight in front of him. Theo, tied up, gagged with his own tie. He blinks, and then he turns to Penelope.
"Okay, so I know that this looks bad, but hear me out…”
In which Penelope has to hold Theo hostage to stop him from ruining Eloise's wedding, and the only person around to help her is her ex-boyfriend that she just had a one night stand with. What could go possibly wrong?

He can’t let her vanish from their lives just because he’d hurt her feelings. That’s Colin’s fault, not Penelope’s. That’s his punishment to bear.
It’s just that the punishment is staying away from Penelope, and Colin can’t quite stand the thought of bearing it all the way.

God, he's so…dirty. His arms are covered in grease, smeared all the way up to his shoulder. He can barely wipe his hands clean with the blue cloth. His hair? It's greasy. Probably from all heat and well, being under all the cars that are here.
"Uh—I can barely get her to start lately," Penelope mutters. "There is this awful screeching when I get her to start. If I keep trying, eventually it starts. I'm sorry, I don't really know a ton about cars."
