Summary
After the events of the Tragedy of Binding, a Black Sun started to orbit Earth, casting an ominous shadow upon humanity. A mysterious disease spread upon its wake, devastating the remaining survivors of humanity and plunging them further into despair. As time for the Previous Era began to run out, none has managed to figure out its true nature.
But before the last remnants of humanity went into its deep slumber, before the Pioneers carried out their mission to guide the new era, Dr. Mei has made a breakthrough.
The Black Sun is not created by the Finality and follows a different path than the Honkai.
At present, Kageyama Eri arrives in Nagazora to continue her studies, blissfully unaware of the darkness casting a shadow over her being.

Felicia tilted it idly this way and that, sitting on the bathroom floor with her back against the cupboard. The floors and the counter tops were marble, and the shower door was glass. Every one of Felicia’s moves seemed to echo in the large room, even though she knew that she was making no sound.
The test was positive. She didn’t bother to check the box to make sure she’d gotten the little symbols right. She’d known before she took it.
“Well,” she breathed out, tilting her head back to inspect the ceiling. “Damn, Spider.”

She closes her eyes as she feels her dream shift back to a familiar grey stone. Not that it matters, not when her eyes are forced open to a beautiful dark purple once again. She watches as Agott falls, unable to move as always.

Summary
Coco gasps as she wakes up. She clutches the neck of her clothes as she wheezes; body shaking with each breath she takes. Her knees burn as she gags from the coughing, her stomach too empty to throw anything up. It doesn’t matter, she heaves up air as her body convulses. Collapsing on the floor, she presses her forehead to the cool stone beneath her. The relief is euphoric, even against her cold skin.
She lays there for an eternity, sinking into the floor. She lays there long enough for the stone to turn from cool to cold to unbearably freezing. She lays there even as the dragon flies up above. She lays there feeling dead.
Coco is stuck in the labyrinth by herself, with none of her friends beside her. And, no matter how what happens to her, she always comes back alive.
