Summary
Just as it was always expected that Andy would plan their next trip, or that Joe would buy their groceries, it became painfully obvious to Nile that every single one of them, including herself, took for granted that of course Nicky would be the one to remind everybody that they could still bring some good to the world. That it was their mission as immortals, the best use of their gift.
Except that he just stated the opposite, to everybody’s surprise and anguish.

“Really?!” Joe exclaimed without letting his sister finish. “Like real sleep?” He confirmed with a hopeful whisper, all of a sudden genuinely careful with the volume of his voice. And all of a sudden Nile had the feeling that this conversation wouldn’t really go as she was expecting.
“Yes,” Quynh nodded solemnly with a satisfied smirk. “His mouth is partly open and I think he even drooled a little.”

Summary
...while it had started with her personal mission to show how beautiful, lovable and kind his soul was, to Nicolò himself in the first place, it had evolved in such a deep brotherly bond that Quynh couldn’t imagine her immortal life without him. Without their jokes and quiet mischief that systematically drove the other two immortals insane.

“No, I heard that. But–” Wei Ying glances at the extremely pretty man, who’s just staring at him, completely still. His empty hands hover in the air. “I don’t need anyone to take care of me. I just wanna go home."
“You are going home,” Yanli reaches over and tucks his hair behind his ear, giving him a tiny smile. “Don’t worry. Just a few more scans, and then Lan Zhan can take you back."
“Who’s Lan Zhan?” he asks.
The pretty man by his side inhales so sharply Wei Ying feels the air get sucked out of the room.

Wei Ying gets in a traffic accident and loses six years of his memories, including meeting and marrying the love of his life. This is the story of how he falls back in love with Lan Zhan: quickly, and inevitably.

“Wangji?” [Lan Xichen] asks, squinting.
Lan Wangji tries to put together a reasonable explanation for showing up unannounced at Lan Xichen’s front door at what must be an ungodly hour. The words refuse to string themselves together, and instead he only manages to cry, “Gege,” before he bursts into tears.
(Or: Lan Wangji falls apart.)

Lan Zhan knows Wei Ying is trying to live off of plane food and the continental breakfast at the bland airport hotel and anything cheap he can scrounge -- vending machine chips, dollar pizza, street food if they're in a place where the water is safe to drink.
It’s an injustice that the pay scale is so inadequate.
