Summary
A tyrant of a bored king, a clown, a doomed kingdom, and the circus that sets everything in motion.
"There was once a king who dreamt he was a clown."
((This is rough draft of the story that I plan to expand to something more detailed but in case something happens or I give up I want to at least have this out.
So have mercy it's just a bunch of jumbled up short scenarios that I managed to place together.))

Summary
Something huge now stood directly in front of him, blocking any hope of escape.
He cast his gaze up, and up, and up.
Before him was easily the largest spider he had ever seen, each of its eight legs twice the length of his body and just as thick. Its abdomen was swollen and heavy, resting lightly on the cave floor—no doubt filled with eggs, just like the spiders that covered the walls.
And, where the thorax and head of the spider would normally be, was what appeared to be the top half of a human– though there were some features that were– off. Its eyes were closed, giant fangs bulging and visible even through the skin around his mouth. It had a mop of soft-looking blond hair, and the smooth, tanned skin of its bare chest contrasted prettily against the dark blue and gold of the rest of its body.
By all accounts, it was a very handsome-looking spider.

“it’s alright, it’s–” the recluse grunted, trying to calm the tickle in his throat. “truly–” unable to soothe it, he turned to hack into his elbow. he squeezed his eyes shut, trying to wave his free hand to summon any magic to cease the fit. he felt a hand grasp his shoulder, and he gave a weak shudder to try and shake it off. the fit eventually ceased, and he held up a hand to stop the sage before he could speak.
“a tickle in my throat,” the recluse murmured hoarsely.

Summary
The Sage of Truth's lessons, which took place in the small square of the town, have all been canceled without notice of when they would return.
It happened three months ago, where without any preamble or warning, the Sage of Truth stumbled onto stage one early morning. He had appeared as himself, though his overcoat was wrinkled and monocle crooked. Then, in an almost shrill tone, he announced that his lessons were canceled for the foreseeable future, and that he was unsure when they would continue. Just as quickly as he arrived, he disappeared through a hastily opened portal filled with closed eyes, and since then, the town has not seen nor heard of the Sage.
