Summary
He wasn’t too tired to lift his head up, he just happened to be admiring the scuffed and rusted tabletop as the sunglasses man left. He swears. Ooh, that bloodstain looks like a butterfly.
“What the hell happened to you?” The question forces his head up to look Sae in the eyes.
“This?” Ren knocks his head back, staring at the hanging light above them. “Don’t worry about it. I’ve got a good doctor.” He smirks.***
OR: What if instead of living with Sojiro Sakura during the events of P5, the leader of the Phantom Thieves lived with Tae Takemi?

Summary
Ren refuses to follow the initial script.
There is no leader named Joker, instead there is a boy who is led down a path that destroys his senses.
Ren has straight A’s, is on student council, works 3 jobs, and eats lunch in the janitors closet with his teacher.
No relationships, no sense of self, and eventually his morals will slip as well. But for him this is perfectly normal.
With the push of Yaldabaoth in the background, Ren develops a Palace.
TLDR: Ren doesn't develop his persona, nor does he lead the Phantom Theives of Heart. His role has been forcefully reassigned.
