Michael stepped forward. Yoichi watched every move he made, hands trembling. Michael stopped in front of him, noticing how the boy barely reached his shoulder.
“So you’re the one I’m marrying,” he muttered, tone sharp by reflex. “You’re smaller than I thought.”
Yoichi’s lower lip quivered, and he looked away, clearly trying not to let it show how much the words stung. An ugly sourness twisted in Michael’s gut. Why did he say that?
____To end a long standing feud between two royal houses, Yoichi is sent to marry the crown prince of the Kaiser family.
