Summary
Christopher Diaz is a young thirteen-year-old teenager whose hormones have just awakened and Chris is going through puberty. He is moody, argumentative, and angry at the whole world. According to him, no one understands him, everyone just wants to control him and run his life. This leads to arguments not only with his father, but also with his best friend Buck. Then Chris does something completely stupid, which has consequences. Unhappy with the idea of punishment, and when he's in a tight spot, Chris reacts like a teenager, with anger. Chris says something he immediately regrets, but he can't take it back.
Life can be cruel sometimes, and when his words almost come true, Chris finds himself in a spiral of remorse and guilt, while Eddie is in a spiral of fear for his best friend, helplessly watching his son's world fall apart, not knowing how to help him. Summary
Weeks after coming back from the lawsuit, Buck overheard the team saying he should get a life outside of the firehouse. Buck swears to do exactly that. He could make a life of his own, separate from the team, since it's clear that they didn't consider him family anymore.
Meeting new and interesting friends is a plus that he didn't expect. Because of that his dull, silent life after the lawsuit turns into a vibrant, happy one again.

Summary
After the tsunami, Buck doesn't become a fire marshal. He joins Dispatch, and he works there until he is cleared to go back to work once he is off the blood thinners. But Buck's confidence in himself and his abilities has been shot ever since he lost Christopher in the tsunami, blame and fear convincing him that he isn't ready to go back to firefighting because he doesn't trust himself anymore. So, at dispatch he stays.
Until a call to 3-Alarm fire downtown goes sour and leads to the first responders scrambling for help, but help isn't coming.
Until Buck realises he is the only help available.
