It’s just like he told Angela: the thoughts take up too much space. He’s staring at the coffee maker, but in his head he can see Hana smiling and Angela pushing a lock of hair behind her ear and Baptiste flashing his dimples when he laughs. He can hear Winston’s noisy chewing. He can hear a song again, one he can’t place.
He leans his weight on his hands, fatigued by the onslaught of information. While he’s clenching his jaw and watching the steady drip of coffee into the carafe, he thinks of someone’s ass, fingers pressing into the meat of it. His face is already hot enough before he processes what that ass is wearing: jeans, light wash, with fraying on the back pockets, a brown leather belt in the loops, a red plaid shirt tucked into the waist.
It’s his ass. It’s his ass, and he’s not thinking of it like someone’s doing it to him — or he wasn’t, before now — but like he’s the one doing it, like it’s someone else’s point of view, someone else’s fantasy. What the hell?

Or: after an experimental treatment for his migraines, Cole develops the ability to read minds. It gets weird.

"Y'all're gonna be there too though, right?" Jesse said, fighting to keep the nerves out of his voice. “Not sure I’m ready for any first dates right now.”
"Oh, yeah, we're not going anywhere,” Ivan assured him. “Don't worry, pup, we'll pass you around until you smell like a proper pack, and then Hanzo'll just put the finishing touches on."
"That's one way of putting it," Dana tittered.
“We’re gonna, uh— “ Jesse struggled to find phrasing that made sense. “Consummate this whole thing?
“Werewolf contracts are far more exciting than human paperwork,” Dana said with a smirk and a squeeze of Jesse’s shoulder. “At least the way we do things.”

Link has a problem.
Well, two problems, really. Or, a problem and a sub-problem. Because Link is in love with the way Sidon makes him feel, with the way Sidon talks to him, praises him, calls him strong and brave and fearless and Link cannot, just cannot stand for that to stop. He doesn’t know what he would do if it did.
He isn’t strong, or brave, or fearless enough to dare find out.
So he… does things. He keeps the Lizalfos in check single-handedly so Sidon will call him strong. He fights a Hinox without a bow to be lauded as brave. He takes on the Ploymus Mountain Lynel after every Blood Moon to be thought fearless.
That is the second problem.
