“It’s the eyes, really.”
That’s what Eddie would say when someone asked him how he always managed to know exactly what Buck was feeling.
Those big, blue, Buck eyes. Eddie found it strange how he was the only one that was able to read them. They were so expressive. A testament to how Buck wore his heart entirely on his sleeve.
Perhaps others just didn’t look into Buck’s eyes as much as he did.
When he was at the height of his addiction, however, Eddie learned of a new Buck look that he hadn’t seen before.

Or: Eddie worries about Buck after he grows distant and spends all his time exercising. He knows something is wrong because he knows Buck's eyes. They tell him everything. One Friday night, he talks to Buck about it. -

Summary
Jayce and Viktor meet as kids and spend the best day both of them had ever had together. But the day ends in tragedy and before they can speak to each other, they get separated. Twelve years later, they reunite when Jayce is about to end his own life. They are happy to have been reunited and are eager to find out if the affection they held all those years ago is still there, but both have since gone through hardships that changed them significantly. Jayce has left the Academy after an accident and is living on autopilot, while Viktor has grown reserved and cynical at the loss and discrimination he has faced at every step he's taken.
As the world seemingly turns against them, all they have is each other. But being each other's safe space becomes difficult when romantic feelings start to blossom.

Summary
"People often assumed that Viktor hated sentimentality. That the job was everything. That Hextech needed to be progressed as fast as possible, no matter the cost.
That could not be further from the truth. Viktor clung to sentimentality. He still had the cogwheel he had grabbed out of the air the first time they had floated, the feeling of the pressure lifted completely off his leg being indescribable. He still had the letter that professor Heimerdinger had sent him all those years ago, inviting him to come to the Academy for his studies.
Viktor was very sentimental.
He just was not a big fan of Christmas. He did not necessarily see the point of showing your loved ones your affections on a special day when, to Viktor, that was something one ought to do every day. He had lost too many people over the course of his life to take for granted how important it was to tell others how much they meant to him. He liked kissing Jayce all day any day, why would Christmas be any different?"
Viktor is not a fan of Christmas, Jayce is. When Jayce thinks of a plan to get his partner to change his mind, Viktor is eager to see him succeed. Who knows? Maybe their first Christmas as a couple will be special, after all.

Summary
Jayce and Viktor were supposed to die, but then they didn't. Thinking everything would be fine and accepting the love your long-time partner is professing is an easy thing to do when you're in your final moments. But now that they both survived, Jayce and Viktor need to process and come to terms with what has happened. That's not something Viktor, filled with shame, finds easy to do. Feeling emotions again is not as fun as it might have appeared.
