“Oh.” That didn’t seem to be the answer Owen was expecting.
“It’s why I… have blue hair, it’s why I paid someone to turn me and it’s why I loved being a vampire.” He said.
“It cured it for you.” Owen realised.
“The power made me feel alive, I could be me.” He stared at the shadows that no longer welcomed him as one of their own, instead it felt like they were closing in on him, preying on his senses and infecting his body.
“I’m surprised you reverted back.” Owen said honestly. “I didn’t regain the disease on my skin after being cured.”
Scott glanced at him. “You said your skin was irritated.”
“Well yeah, but it’s nothing like what I dealt with before.” He said.]---

As the silence filled the room, Etho simply nodded. “Impulse is coming later today to check you out. He was out at False’s base, then he’ll be over here.”
“Did Jimmy convince you to do this?” Tango said, fighting to keep his voice even. The anger started to rise in him.
He got that they were concerned, but he was fine. He could handle this to make his friends proud and give them a break. Why couldn’t they understand that?
“No. He asked me to talk to you. I chose to call Impulse. I’m not convinced that you don’t have redstone poisoning, and Impulse knows the signs better than I do.”
“And so what if I do? It’s not affecting me! Let me decide what I can handle,” Tango’s voice started to rise.

Joel tucked his phone back into his pocket, zipping it just in case. Another thing that made him a good bounty hunter was the fact that this city was in every way his. Joel lived and breathed every street of this jam-packed place.
The other thing that made him a good bounty hunter, though, had to be the ruthlessness that stemmed from seeing people stuck living on the streets just because of the rich people that sat behind their white fences and gated communities. It was the ruthlessness that let Joel do what he did best: hunt.
