Summary

Now one of his one of his twin daughters goes missing and he has to trust the same people he betrayed and a new face to find his daughter and gain stability again.

Summary
There is no clear moment, not really, but there is one that sticks out in his mind, when he knew with a sickening sort of thud inside him, a punch to the jaw in an anything goes bare-fist fight, no chance to hide his weak spots in the aftermath.
“No.” Suguru says, enunciating carefully, as though his lack of diction is the issue.
“But Suguru,” Satoru whines, heavy on the last syllable, and Suguru can feel Shoko shift beside him.
“Why do you say his name like that?” She snips before Satoru can continue with his impassioned plea or Suguru can try to intercede, cut him off. “Just say it normal, be normal.” She kicks out and misses Satoru, standing at the edge of the bed, and hits Suguru, who grunts in response. “Oops.”
Suguru waves it off.
“When is he ever normal?” He asks, rolling his eyes at her. Shoko snorts out a laugh, her leg resting over Suguru’s shin, a comforting warmth.
“So true.” Shoko responds, flicking open her phone.
“I’m literally right here.” Satoru practically shouts, tossing his sunglasses haphazardly onto Suguru’s bedside table, “terrible friendship, terrible friends,” and Suguru closes his eyes because he knows what is coming next, “Suguru,” Satoru whines again.

Summary

Summary
Suguru pauses before knocking, his raised fist drops back to his side. He looks at Satoru, gives him a very obvious once-over.
“Take the jacket off,” he says.
Satoru looks at himself, at the sunny yellow letters on his chest that scream their purpose “How’s anyone going to know I’m FBI, dude?”
Suguru raises his eyebrows. Surely he cannot be this dense. “They’ll know.” He turns back toward the door, pauses again, then turns back to Satoru. “And let me do the talking.”
“But I memorized the case details and I’ve got questions-”
“You don’t know these people,” Suguru says. He doesn’t know them either, not personally–they understand each other in a way Satoru does not. Cannot. “You have no idea what they’ve been through.”
Satoru opens his mouth and closes it.
Suguru knocks.
Satoru Gojo has a pathological need to be right. He tells himself he’ll have this case solved in two weeks, and then he’ll wash his hands of this tiny little town.
But girls keep going missing; eyes are watching his every move; and this new partner of his, Suguru, has no idea how to breathe.

He went out of his way to talk to Suguru every day and tried to meet him by chance. He’d go to shower at the same time, go into the kitchen to eat at the same time, and step out of his room when he heard Suguru’s door. Initially, Suguru responded politely and reservedly, seemingly not interested in being friends. But Satoru refused to give up.
—Satoru has a lot of feelings about Suguru. That's just friendship, right? Suguru is his first friend and his best friend. So these feelings and desires are just due to friendship. As Satoru and Suguru go from first years at Jujutsu High to adulthood, they learn to be sorcerers, friends, and how to love each other.

He hits send. Then locks the phone and presses it to his forehead sighing. He doesn’t expect a reply. But he leaves the room booked anyway.
The next night. The hotel is quiet. The room is lavish. Gojo’s already there. Showered. Changed. He hasn’t sat down, he just stands at the window, staring out. He’s tired. Not from battle. Not from teaching. From waiting.
The clock ticks past 11:03.
Then 11:07.
And just as he turns away…
The lock clicks. His breath catches.
The door opens slowly, quietly. Like the person behind it doesn’t want to be seen.

Six months on the street with his funds running low, if one of his father’s men doesn’t kill him then the oncoming winter will. Going to Chan is a decided risk, he might put a bullet in Felix's skull instead of taking on the job he's offering, but— well. At least that death will be quick.
