Summary
“I don't know,” Kaeya offers jovially. “Maybe Venti's a vampire.”
That draws a pair of groans from both Jean and Diluc, Jean leaning forward to throw a potato chip at him from the half-empty bowl on the dining table.
“Can you please be serious?” she scolds.
Kaeya shrugs as he picks the potato chip off his lap and eats it.
“But I am being serious,” he says, and when Jean opens her mouth to protest, he moves the fork to point at her. “No, no, hear me out."
If Jean and Diluc had been told that they'd be spending the summer unravelling a secret deep within their small university town, they would have shaken their heads crisply and said no, thank you. Unfortunately, a chance encounter at the pub soon leads them on a wild adventure— a countdown to uncover the secrets behind the strange boy living in the abandoned castle on the lake, and the fate weaving them together in shared destiny.

While helping ART pack for a new colony rescue mission, Murderbot finds a discrepancy in its crew manifest. The truth is weirder and more emotionally loaded than it ever expected.

People have commented on how MB as a SecUnit might relate to ART as analogous to a HubSystem and what that means for their relationship, but how does ART, as a bot pilot designed to pilot drones and shuttles and split itself into multiple pieces, relate to having a SecUnit on board?Bookmarked by Sal0405

What makes a person a person? Simple: if they have a daemon.
That's a very convenient rubric, considering that bots don't have daemons. And neither do constructs, of course.

Summary
Dr. Pranjal Ratthi has written papers on mutualism, symbiotic relationships where all species involved benefit from their interactions. It turns out that applying theory into practice with human-AI dynamics is a little more complicated than he might have anticipated. But worth it, in the end.
[Network Effect, from Ratthi's perspective.]
